Malunion Femur Undewent Correction

Pre Op
22year old male involved in a road traffic accident and sustained Gd 1 open fracture femur with IM nailing done
 
Pre Op
Developed infected non-union and converted to external fixator but displaced

 

Pre Op
Developed malunion and presented for treatment after six months from initialinjury Patella dislocated laterally

 

Post Op
Excision of malunion,gentamicin beads insertiion with acute shortening and distal corticotomy to restore length with Ilizarov frame applied

 

Post Op

 

Progress
Healing of malunion in good alignment and length restoration

 

Result
Patient walking full weight bearing with good return knee motion and has returned to work
